Barbara Wilder

Minister to Active Adults 50 Plus

Barbara Wilder grew up in southern Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Science (Biology-Secondary Education) degree from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. At Asbury, she met her husband Lew, who is also on the Niceville UMC staff as the Discipleship Pastor.

After their years in Wilmore, they served a three-point charge in South Carolina. Then Lew joined the US Air Force Chaplain Service and the next years were spent in Maine, South Carolina, Hawaii, California and Florida.

While in the military, Barbara served in a diverse number of ministries to children and youth of all ages and women, as well as in musical and outreach programs.

Barbara has also been a Middle School science teacher, Adult Education teacher (Business English and English as a Secondary Language, and an assistant to homebound adults.

Barbara has been a part of the support staff of Niceville UMC for over 6 years. She feels very blessed to be given the opportunity to serve the Active Adults 50 Plus here at Niceville UMC, and invites you to come join the fun!

Barbara and Lew have two grown children, Mary Ann and Jim, and have recently welcomed a wonderful daughter-in-love, Sarah, to the family.
