40 Core Competencies
Our church has adopted "40 Core Competencies". There are ten competencies in four major areas: Beliefs, Practices, Virtues, and Lordship. As we sought to answer the question: “What does a fully committed follower of Jesus look like?”, we defined it in terms of core competencies. These are areas that each believer should be seeking to build into their lives and character. Obviously, these are not exhaustive, thus the word “core”. I consider these the crucial ones. Each week our sermon outline will with have a designation of which core competency is being taught. I hope this adds purpose and direction to our preaching and our spiritual growth.
